Message from the Superintendent
Welcome to the Southern California Regional Occupational Center, also known as SoCal ROC. We are the leaders in providing current and relevant Career Technical Education programs that are meeting today’s job demands and careers of the future! Part of the California public school system, our programs are offered to high schools students as well as adults in the South Bay and surrounding communities.
Courses are offered based on the following criteria: 1) industry standards and identified career area shortages; 2) courses that meet high school graduation requirements; 3) courses that meet UC/CSU college entrance requirements; and 4) courses that are part of a sequential pathway. Students may select from courses that are part of 6 different career sectors including:
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Arts/Media and Entertainment
- Finance and Business
- Public and Consumer Services
- Health Science and Medical Technology
- Engineering, Technology and Industrial Trades
We understand the importance of not only providing our students with theory-based instruction but the opportunity to apply that knowledge through “hands-on” learning activities. Many of the programs offered at SoCal ROC also offer on-the-job training or extern components as well.
There is a difference between just having a job versus doing something for which you have a passion and can earn a good living. SoCal ROC’s programs and career pathways will provide you with the quality educational experiences that will tap into your passion and open doors to exciting career opportunities.
I am thrilled that you have chosen So Cal ROC to pursue your career interest. I know you will understand very quickly why our motto is “Education with a Purpose!”
