Title: BUSINESS OFFICE OCCUPATIONS INSTRUCTOR
Schedule: 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR Part-time, Hours & Days TBD
Function: Teach a course is designed to prepare students with basic foundation skills to enter the business office work environment, or to pursue higher education in the field of business management or business technology. Students may use this course as a career pathway toward further study in Business Entrepreneurship. Students will enhance their computer skills in order to generate business documents, maintain company data base records, prepare a variety of office reports, develop financial strategies to maintain reporting records, and be proficient in interpersonal office skills and use of office equipment. Instruction to include Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and PowerPoint in preparing daily assignments related to business office needs. Successful completion of this course will provide skills to apply toward employment opportunities within the business environment and strengthen the student’s ability to seek admission to programs of higher learning in business management, administration and business technology fields. Title: CIVIL ENGINEERING / ARCHITECTURE INSTRUCTOR

Function: Instruction will provide an overview of the fields of Civil Engineering and Architecture, while emphasizing the interrelationship and independence of both fields. Course has state-of-the-art software to solve real-world problems and to facilitate hands-on projects and activities. The major focus of the course is a long-term project that involves the development of a local property site. As students learn about various aspects of civil engineering and architecture, they will apply what they learn to the design and development of this property. There is flexibility for the student and teacher, in that they can develop the property as a simulation or as a real-world experience in the community.

Title: DENTAL FRONT OFFICE INSTRUCTOR
Schedule: 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR Part-time, Hours & Days TBD, Approximately 10 hours per week
Function: Teach a course designed to provide entry-level training in the unlicensed field of Dental Assisting placing emphasis on front office tasks such as scheduling efficiently and productively; professional phone techniques; greeting patients; managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Instruction includes the process of electronic billing, scheduling and charting utilizing dental software. Also, teach students general dentistry procedures, including the four surrounding dental specialties which involve movement of the teeth, removal of the teeth and tissues, replacement of missing teeth, tooth vitality, and nerves.

Title: DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY OF CHILDREN INSTRUCTOR
Schedule: 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR / Part-time, Hours & Days TBD
Function: Instructor shall teach the course that integrates human developmental theory and practice. Instruction on the developmental stages of children from infancy through pre-adolescence; the major developmental theories are presented as each area of child development is studied. Instruction will include students observing children and their activities, responses and behaviors in school settings and compare their findings to the accepted norms and theories of development. Instructor will have the student research learning theories, curriculum models and effective practices. Weekly field practicum experiences allow students to apply developmentally appropriate practices in working with children.

Title: EMERGENCY MEDICAL FIRST RESPONDER INSTRUCTOR

Function: This program is designed to train students to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and/or injured patients and to assist other emergency medical services providers. The emergency response training includes classroom and laboratory instruction in first aid, CPR,. Communication skills, legality, ethics, stress management, overview of the history and future of healthcare, pre-hospital care systems, anatomy and physiology, triage and post-emergency care duties. Upon successful completion of the course, a student will receive CPR and First Aid Certification.

Title: INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR

Function: Teach a program that is an Interdisciplinary and Applied Discipline course to introduce students to the theory behind learning and teaching. Students use several texts to provide them with the interdisciplinary background needed in a theory course. Students study the history of education in the United States, sociological factors influencing educational systems, education policy and politics, the psychology behind learning and teaching, curriculum design and educational standards, and assessment and evaluation in education. A multi-disciplinary approach requires students to produce essays, oral presentations, projects and to pass exams from a number of academic areas. Academic work is reinforced by 60 optional lab hours with K-9 students in public school community classrooms. Lab work relates directly to the educational theory under study.

Title: PET GROOMING AND BOARDING INSTRUCTOR

Function: Teach a program that develops the students’ necessary skills to work in the pet grooming industry. Students to perform animal grooming duties such as washing, brushing, clipping, and trimming coats, cutting nails, and cleaning ears; feeding and watering animals according to schedules and feeding instructions; collecting and recording animal information such as weight, size, physical condition, treatments received, medications given and food intake. Also, all aspects of sanitation important in the industry such as cleaning, organizing, and disinfecting the animals quarters to detect signs of illness, disease, or injury. Student trained to respond to questions from patrons, providing information about animals such as behavior, habitat, breeding habits, or facility activities, answering phones and scheduling appointments.

Function: Instructor shall teach the course designed to provide self-directed and advanced instruction and knowledge of opportunities in traditional photography. Instruction on simple camera functions that include knowledge of use of frames and shutters, as well as the use of basic flash photography and exposure to light conditions, develop film through the dark room process, as well as through the use of Adobe PhotoShop editing and other photography software, assign students a research paper covering a particular aspect of professional photography that relates or contrasts to the student’s own personal style. Instruction includes the study of various professional photographers throughout world history and making connections to the student’s own use of the camera.
